Maxime Chabriel

I am a PhD student at ENS Lyon, in the Department of Economics at CERGIC (Center for Economic Research on Governance, Inequality and Conflict), under the supervision of Cédric Chambru and Sylvie Démurger. I graduated from ENSAE/SciencesPo (ingeneering degree in Data Science, Statistics and Economics) in 2022 and UVSQ (Master’s in Sociology) in 2023.

My PhD research focuses mainly on exploring the interplay between media and politics, specifically examining the press in France during the long 19th century. I employ a range of analytical methods, including Econometrics, Natural Language Processing, and Network analysis.

I have a few other interests including Sociology of Science and investigating new methods in Digital Humanities.

Many thanks to Vincent Bagilet for helping me build this website!
